Begste is a Dharma protector who appears surrounded by flames and smoke. He is in warrior posture and of compact appearance. His red face is angry. The function of this thangka is to warn about the perils of living a meaningless life and how we must strive for a life that is free of hatred. In Tibet Begste is worshipped as a mediator. This thangka is about 30 to 40 years old and is hand painted. The size of the thangka is 33 x 23 inches.
