Stupas were originally made from clay and were used to cover Buddhist relics and statues. But they evolved into massive structures and as they moved into Asia became what we know as pagodas. Stupas also symbolize the mind of the Buddha. This stupa thangka is made from silk and brocade. It is 20 x 15 inches and the brocade is 33 x 28 inches. Made in Nepal.
