This is a 15 foot long Chinese painting scroll. The width of the scroll is 18 inches. The painting is about a banquet in Tang dynasty, when Chinese civilization was in its heyday. After several wars against the enemies, the empire became very prosperous. The painting shows the literates in a banquet in that time. The women in the paintings are prostitutes. In old time, prostitutes were artists. They played instrument and wrote poems to entertain their customers. They would not have sex with their customers.
