Chinese Mao's Wife Propaganda Poster
Our Price: $49
Mao's wife, Jiang Qing, was an actress in Shanghai in the 1930s. She joined the Communist army during the formation of the Communist party, while they were located in Yan An. She married Mao and had one daughter, who is still alive. Mao used her as a tool to beat down his rivals during the Cultural Revolution, but some accounts allege that she had her own agenda to take over the country for herself as well. She was sent to prison after Mao died, and committed suicide during the 1990s. The Chinese words on this propaganda poster say, "The entertainment industry should follow the guidelines set up by Jiang Qing." This propaganda poster is 30 x 21 inches.
